Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China, and also a high-level university under the key construction of national "211 Project" and "985 Project".
In the past 90 years, adhering to the school motto of "self-improvement and perfection", the university has accumulated rich experience in running a school and formed distinct characteristics of running a school. It has become a comprehensive university with complete disciplines, abundant teachers, first-class in China and wide influence in the world.
